Since 2011, Rime has been designing wedding dresses, by being part of this new generation who decided to shake the traditional wedding codes, and to bring style and attitude in very static & conventional industry. Her urban and modern bride breaks codes and taboos by displaying slits and vertiginous backs, and sulphurous laces revealing unprecedented sheer detail, all in an unconventional and offbeat atmosphere: far from castles and traditional bouquets. The Rime bride is a heroine out of a Sofia Coppola movie, with messy hair, barefoot, young and sexy, natural and rebellious, a mix of Kate Moss and the famous French movie character Manon des Sources.
Living in Paris, Rue de Seine founder and designer Michele Corty was constantly inspired by the effortless bohemian style of Saint-Germain-des-Près, and its free spirited residents. After marrying the love of her life on Rue de Seine, a street humming with creativity, artistic energy, passion and art, Michele moved back to New Zealand and started Rue. Beginning with a small team of six in a shared studio space, and a boutique in Newmarket - Rue de Seine has now grown to a worldwide company wholesaling gowns from our Auckland Atelier to over 80 retailers all across the globe.
